Planning data for England

England’s planning applications, from about 300 local authorities, in one place.

Planning applications in England are published by about 300 local authorities, each on its own system, with no central record. Waymark Data collects them, connects them, and turns them into analysis built around your question.

How it works

Collected from every authority.

Waymark monitors each local authority’s planning portal for new applications and holds a historical library going back to 2024. Collection is rate-limited, so it never burdens a council’s systems.

Connected across a development’s life.

An application moves through several stages over months or years. Waymark links the related filings, so you can follow one development from first submission to decision.

Analysis that stays current.

Every analysis is versioned. When your question or the rules behind it change, the historical data is re-processed, so results never go stale.

Results arrive the way you work: a weekly spreadsheet, an API, or an MCP server for AI tools.

First use

Waymark was first built to track Biodiversity Net Gain for an ecological consultancy, which holds exclusive access to that dataset. The same platform can answer other questions about what is being built in England, where, and by whom.
